FORNO seeks to be a world leading culinary institute that will establish an identity within the city of Naples, as a place to be for the younger generation. Naples is currently in a crisis wherby there are little to no oppurtunities for young people. As a result they either leave, or fall into organised crime. FORNO seeks to build on the already thriving food culture within Naples to change the narrative and reestablish Naples as a place of opportunity and learning.
Conceptually, the design tries to emulate the cooking process. Begining with an architectural exploration of the kitchen during use, how it transitions from a space of order and formality to one of making and creativity. This is realised in the design by splitting the design styles by programmatic use, formal architecture for non-making spaces, and informal architecture for creative spaces. These spaces were rooms such as the exhibition kitchen & dining space, as well as the professional kitchen.

When observing the physical model, the buildings true relation and interaction with site can be truly appreciated. Here the tower structure can be seen to respond to the context, never overpowering the surrounding buildings but also taking prominent position in the piazza.
